Video game creates historically accurate gratuitous violence - [General]
Submitted by Forcefire on 7/29/2005 10:31:58 AM

ALWAYS FANS of mixing gratuitous bloodshed in videogames with a bit of history – not that difficult really, considering how we’ve gotten on with one another over the centuries, we're happy to hear that Schanz International Consultants (SIC) and Danish developer Tabula Rasa Games signed up together for SIC to license the 3rd person Tactical Action Game "Hannibal: Vengeance of Carthage".

In the game, players will take the role of Hannibal Barka, commander in chief of the Carthagian forces against the Roman republic in a game that will combine strategic planning, tactical battle plan execution and 3rd person action… certainly an interesting mix.

It’s still very early on in development, though Tabula Rasa have been working on it for a while before signing a publisher, and so we shouldn’t expect to see the game until 2006 at least.
